The Folding Valence Electron Dot Periodic Table was how it all began in the early 90's. This is the only periodic table that stresses the valence electrons (the most important AND OVERLOOKED concept in chemistry education!). You can't memorize compounds, you HAVE to know the number of valence e-s (and the relation to e-pairs and the octet that form molecules (compounds). This is why I say ANYONE can learn chemistry by this technique that has e-vacancies that fill in so simple kindergarteners get it!

This unique periodic table is the only one that illustrates how the valence (outermost) electrons follow simple octet and pairing rules... Then simply fold for a compound and fill in the blanks!

Prof. Glenn T. Seaborg, the first to sign the 'Periodic Table Car' in 1997 (IUPAC's ONLY accepted naming of an element after a living person (then in '97 (#106)) "Seaborgium".

He appreciated "the compliment" of his caricture for #106 on the Folding Table BEFORE IUPAC officially accepted it. Glenn described it as an "Artfully Embellished Periodic Table" what a compliment! (He chemically separated Plutonium in Gillman Hall at Cal 194? one ar two????) RIP'99
